As the year draws to a close, the grisly fingerprints of war are evident all over the world, leaving millions of people in unimaginably dire circumstances.
Children are left dazed and covered in dust after bombings. Families are in sprawling refugee camps, where seeking sanctuary from violence often means encountering new hardships, like hunger and lack of clean water. Entire cities, once bustling with life, now look like ghost towns—their eerily silent streets littered with smoldering ruins.
Not now. Not when we have the power to turn our empathy into tangible, life-saving support.
Not when we can help provide food, water, shelter, hygiene kits and desperately needed medicines for people who have nowhere else to turn.
For those of us fortunate enough to be removed from the immediacy of these horrors, we have a responsibility to provide direct aid to those who are caught in the crossfire. Over the last year, you have heeded the call and provided unwavering support for the victims of the wars in Ukraine and Israel-Gaza, the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and the fires in Maui and northern California, to name a few.
Grief has no borders and no boundaries. Nowhere is this more evident than in the wars in Israel-Gaza, and in Ukraine, where thousands of innocent civilians are being needlessly killed.
Children are starving, families have been driven from their homes, and bodies litter the streets as bombs continue to rain down. In Ukraine, over 12 million people have left their homes to seek safety elsewhere, including two-thirds of the nation’s children.
With one conflict beginning and another one continuing to linger, we still have a lot of work to do. Please consider making a donation to help those who are suffering the horrific effects of war.
Not one, not two, but FIVE earthquakes rocked Turkey and Syria in the span of a few weeks. The result was utter destruction, especially in Syria, a country already ravaged by armed conflict.
Medical facilities, already strained by treating casualties of war, struggled to address injuries resulting from the earthquakes. Roads damaged in the conflict hindered relief efforts and the distribution of essential supplies.
Yet with your help, we prevailed. International Relief Teams rushed urgently needed food, water, medicines and emergency lighting to assist families whose lives were tragically shattered.
Our work in the aftermath continues. Please consider making a contribution to help those still in desperate need.
The inferno that engulfed Maui earlier this year was among the 10 deadliest wildfires on record in the U.S. Several years ago, Paradise, California, faced a similar fate when the town was consumed by a wildfire that raged uncontrolled for weeks, reducing everything in its wake to a pile of ashes.
What was destroyed in the blink of an eye takes years to rebuild. International Relief Teams has been in Paradise for the last several years, rebuilding homes and helping people recover their lives. And now, the people of Maui are facing similar challenges to rebuild their communities.
Being there when disaster strikes is important, but it's not enough. Because of donors like you, International Relief Teams can maintain its long term commitment to those in need.
Please consider donating today to help us continue to restore hope and rebuild lives.
Please consider giving generously to those who have been touched by war, famine, and natural disasters. Your contribution has the power to put food on a famished child’s plate, give clean water to a family living amid destruction, provide hygiene kits to maintain a sense of dignity in the most dire circumstances, and offer safe shelter to those whose homes are now only memories.
Together we will continue to make a profound difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands who are struggling for survival.
When the unimaginable happens, International Relief Teams is there.
And with your support, we always will be.
