These are the words Bob Silva spoke to me as I interviewed him inside his newly constructed home. It was five years ago, on this very piece of land, Bob answered his neighbor’s call to help extinguish fires that slowly spread around his neighborhood. Little did he know, when he left his house that morning, it would be the last time he ever crossed the threshold of his front door.
