In San Diego, thousands of children go to bed unsure of where their next meal will come from. School lunches cover the weekdays, but weekends can leave painful gaps.
Feeding San Diego’s Kids fills this gap. Since 2012, we’ve delivered nutritious food packs to low-income families through local schools, reaching dense urban neighborhoods in central San Diego.
Join us in ensuring every child in San Diego has the nourishment they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
Most people see San Diego as a vibrant coastal city, but beneath the surface, thousands struggle to feed their families.
During the school week, free lunch programs help ensure children don’t go hungry. But once the weekend arrives, many have no reliable source of food—leaving them vulnerable to both poor health and falling behind in school.
That is where the Feeding San Diego’s Kids program steps in. Every week, volunteers fill food packs with enough nourishing food to feed a family of four for two days.
Feeding San Diego’s Kids is providing weekend meals to 300 low-income families.
Dedicated volunteers gather each week to pack food, ensuring children have reliable access to nutrition. By the end of the week, the packs are delivered to local schools, where a School Liaison distributes them—so every child can return on Monday with the nourishment they need to thrive.
