Syria Earthquake Relief

The earthquake that struck northwestern Syria on February 6, compounded the suffering for people already plagued by 12 years of armed conflict. To add to the devastation, Since March 5, 2023, Syria has experienced 5 quakes with a magnitude of 4.0 and above.

Some residents scrambled to find remnants of their lives from between mounds of concrete and mangled metal, others sat atop the rubble of their homes weeping.

Today, 2.9 million people in Syria are in desperate need of assistance. Many are living in crowded tent settlements without basic sanitation or in buildings already weakened by past bombings. The quakes have displaced many for a second or third time, forcing them to sleep in the open as temperatures drop below freezing.

Working with local partners, International Relief Teams is providing emergency aid to thousands of survivors in Turkey. But the people of Syria also need our help. The situation is especially grim for millions living in this war-torn region who have little access to international aid.

We have already rushed urgently needed food, water, blankets, medicines, and emergency supplies to assist families devastated by this unprecedented disaster.

Your support is critically needed to help families survive in the weeks and months ahead. As always, thank you so much for your generosity and compassion!
