PUBLIC HEALTH Constructing clean water systems and sanitation facilities for impoverished communities By constructing clean water systems and sanitation facilities in rural
and agricultural communities, International Relief Teams (IRT) helps eliminate
the source of diseases such as dysentery, diarrhea, and hepatitis that
afflict many families living in unsanitary conditions. Constructing hospitals and clinics to serve families who have no access to medical care The lack of adequate health care facilities and services is a major
factor impacting the health of most impoverished communities worldwide.
IRT construction volunteers share their time, talent and energy in building
rural health clinics and hospitals serving the poor. Since 1988, 138 teams, involving 1,063 volunteers, have participated in International Relief Teams' public health projects worldwide. |
