DISASTER RELIEF
Natural and man-made disasters can occur without warning
anywhere in the world. International Relief Teams (IRT) offers both immediate
and long-term relief to disaster victims. IRT is vigilant in choosing
appropriate responses to emergency situations, so that its resources can
be leveraged to their highest effectiveness.
Providing emergency medical care
IRT medical teams rush to aid victims of earthquakes, hurricanes, and
floods, as well as those caught in the turmoil of war and genocidal conflict.
Rebuilding homes and lives
IRT's highly skilled reconstruction teams repair the homes of uninsured,
low-income families and the elderly, who suffer damage from hurricanes
and floods in the United States.
Providing emergency medicines and supplies
Each year IRT sends millions of dollars in emergency medicines and supplies
to victims of natural and man-made disasters worldwide.
Since 1988, International Relief Teams has deployed 234 disaster relief
teams, totaling 1,277 volunteers, to aid victims of disaster worldwide.
More than $73 million in emergency medicines and supplies have been delivered
to those in desperate need.
